Taco Tuesday Pizza

This is a tasty pizza I can get behind; and it’s certainly not traditional!  The Milford Spice Company’s Taco Tuesday is perfect with ground beef and this pizza is party in my mouth!

INGREDIENTS

1 15-ounce can refried beans
1 pkg ground beef (about 1 lb.)
2 Tbsp Milford Spice Company’s Taco Tuesday
1 package frozen Tiseo’s Dough, thawed
1 cup frozen corn, thawed
2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
1 cup pico de gallo (store bought is cool)

For the Avocado Crema:
1 avocado peeled and pit removed, cut into chunks
½ cup sour cream
1 Tbsp lime juice
1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Coarse or kosher salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

  • In a food processor, place the black beans, garlic, chili powder, cumin, olive oil and salt. Puree until smooth.

  • Spray a large skillet with nonstick cooking spray (or lightly oil the skillet) and place it over medium high heat. When hot, add the beef and and Milford Spice Company’s Taco Tuesday and cook until it is browned, stirring frequently to break it up into small crumbles, about 5 minutes.

  • Roll out the pizza dough onto a rimmed baking sheet (I use Reynold’s Wrap Non-Stick Foil).

  • Spread the dough evenly with the refried beans, leaving a ½-inch border.

  • Sprinkle the dough evenly with the browned meat, , corn, then with the shredded cheese. Top the pizza with the pico de Gallo.

  • Bake until the dough is cooked through and the cheese is melted, about 30-35 minutes.

  • While the pizza is baking, place the avocado, sour cream, lemon or lime juice, olive oil, and salt and pepper in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.

  • Let the pizza sit for a minute or two before drizzling with the avocado crema and cutting into wedges to serve.
