New Hudson Apple Pie Fritters

These are amazing.  Seriously.  And SO easy to make!  Milford Spice Company’s New Hudson Apple Pie spice is a must have for the fall and winter baking seasons!

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp Milford Spice Company’s New Hudson Apple Pie Spice
1/2 tsp kosher salt
2 large eggs
2 Tbsp salted butter, melted
1/2-3/4 cup whole milk
1 Tbsp real maple syrup
3-4 Honeycrisp apples, peeled and chopped

For the Glaze:
1 1/3 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup whole milk
1-2 Tbsp real maple syrup
2 tsp vanilla extract
2-3 tsp instant coffee
flaky sea salt

DIRECTIONS

  • In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, Milford Spice Company’s New Hudson Apple Pie Spice, and salt. Add the eggs, butter, 1/2 cup milk, and maple, and mix until just combined, being careful not to over mix the batter. If the the batter feels thick, add a little more milk until thinned out a bit. Fold in the apples.

  • Heat 2 inches of oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Drop 1-2 tablespoon-sized balls of batter into the oil for 4-5 minutes or until golden and crisp on all sides (flipping halfway through). Remove and drain on a wire rack with paper towels underneath.

  • To make the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, maple, vanilla, and coffee powder. Add a pinch of flaky seas salt. Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritters.
