Caprese Tartine with Burrata

This is such a simple, flavorful appetizer.  We serve this a lot when guests come over – everyone loves it!  If you can’t find burrata at the grocery store near you, just email me or message me on Instagram and I’ll help lead you in the right direction.

INGREDIENTS

1 Italian round loaf of bread or French baguette
2 tubs of burrata cheese
1 pint grape tomatoes, sliced in half
1 cup fresh basil
4 Tbsp Balsamic glaze (or balsamic vinegar)
4 Tbsp olive oil

DIRECTIONS

  • Heat a grill pan to medium.  Cut the bread into 1/2 “ – 1” slices and brush olive oil on both sides.  Place the bread onto the grill pan and let sit to get some nice grill marks (2-3 minutes on each side).
  • Meanwhile, stem the basil and make sure your tomatoes are halved.
  • Once the first round of slices are finished, place on a plate and put the next round of slices on the grill pan.
  • Slice each burrata ball into 3 parts and pace 2 parts on each slice of toast.  Carefully spread to fill the surface of the toast.
  • Place tomato and basil on top and drizzle with balsamic.
  • Repeat until all your slices are complete.
