Peach Sauce
"I wanna take a bath in that sauce!" Gilmore Girls was a really great show. You can put this delicious sauce, inspired by the show, on waffles, pancakes, french toast, etc.
INGREDIENTS
4 cups fresh peaches, sliced
1 Tbsp whole allspice
1 Tbsp whole cloves
1 whole nutmeg
2 cups water
3 Tbsp butter
3 Tbsp Grand Marnier liquor
3 Tbsp lemon juice
3 Tbsp maple syrup
1 Tbsp water
¼ cup heavy whipping cream
2 Tbsp cornstarch
DIRECTIONS
- Add peach slices to a large saucepan. Tie allspice, cloves, and nutmeg in a spice bag and add to peaches. Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil. Boil rapidly for about 10 minutes until peaches get super soft. Remove spice bag.
- Pour the peaches ad their juices into a blender and blend until super smooth. Set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add the Grand Marnier, lemon juice, maple syrup, and 1 Tbsp water. Stir until fully combined.
- Strain the peach puree into the saucepan and throw away the pulp. Stir and heat until almost boiling.
- Pour ¼ cup heavy whipping cream into a bowl and add 2 Tbsp corn starch and whip it until it gets thick. Ad it to the peach sauce, stirring until it’s fully dissolved. The peach sauce will become very thick with a few small lumps.
- Strain the sauce one more time to remove the lumps.
