Raspberry Sorbet

Mom gave me her Oster Ice Cream Maker the other day because she wasn't using it, so, obviously I had to make some sorbet.  Can't wait to make ice cream and frozen yogurt with it, too!  Any suggestions on what to make next?

Also, couldn't stop singing "Raspberry Sorbet" to the tune of a great Prince song all day.

INGREDIENTS

4 cups fresh raspberries
½ cup sugar
1 cup water
1 Tbsp lemon juice

 

DIRECTIONS

  • Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan.  Heat to boiling and then reduce heat and simmer until the sugar dissolves. 
  • Remove from heat and cool completely (1-2 hours).
  • Blend raspberries in blender and sieve over a medium bowl to remove the seeds.
  • Add pureed raspberries with the lemon juice.
  • Pour into freezing bowl of the Oster Ice Cream Maker through the hole in the lid.
  • Churn 35 minutes or until desired consistency.
