Chocolate Waffles

These are so perfect for a lazy Sunday morning, reading the paper in cozy PJs and sipping on coffee.  

 

INGREDIENTS

3 cups Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix
1 1/3 cups water
2 eggs
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa
2 cups fresh strawberries, halved or quartered

DIRECTIONS

  • Heat and lightly grease Belgian or conventional waffle iron.

  • Stir Krusteaz Belgian Waffle Mix, water, eggs, oil and cocoa powder together with a wire whisk until smooth. Let batter stand 2 minutes. Using a heart-shaped waffle maker, pour about batter onto waffle iron.

  • Cook waffles 3-4 minutes until golden brown (or follow waffle iron manufacturer’s cooking instructions). Garnish with whipped cream, shaved chocolate and sliced fresh strawberries.
